  1. Summer pd possibilities- June 6-7-Learner Targets/ Aug. 8-9-Designing assessments for teacher effectiveness (Kelley Parkhurst created this study group for June-waiting on TIC credit / Aug 8-9 will be TIC credit or $175 a day)
  2. Checking in with the district writing assessments-window, student samples
  3. Foundation checklist for Teacher Effectiveness Learning Network (explaining what we do and what is effective to those who are not world language teachers.)   4. Discussion-What will our assessments look like for Level I as we develop them this summer?

  5. Planing for designing units for Grades 3 and 4.

1. Using the Common Core alignment World Languages document created by ACTFL, teachers will become more aware of the common core and its connections to World Language learning in order to improve activities in class and to write common assessment prompts.
2. Exam old prompts and think about writing text types such as blog entry, email response, ad, response to letter, postcard, survey, essay, journal entry, etc?
3. Discussion of what mode to focus on this year for end of year writing assessment to be administered in April? May?

Agenda-Create interpersonal and presentational strong thematic writing prompts (as we work towards creating new common assessments for our classes.)
1. Review district rubrics + writing assessment form + # of words required for each level
2. Brainstorm formats for interpersonal and presentational writing (like email, text, note, letter, postcard, blog entry, article, etc.)
3. Review RAFT/work on theme-based ideas for interpersonal and presentational writing prompts, in groups--i.e., prompts that could
be used for any language--themes we will focus on: family, school, clothes/shopping, environment, house, health/healthy lifestyle,
global challenges, art, free-time activities, food/restaurant, city/travel.
4. Examine an example of theme-based prompt.
5. In groups, work on theme-based prompts for interpersonal or presentational writing.
